Every Great Adventure Starts with an Idea

Welcome to the very first StarGazer Weekend blog.

If you're reading this, you're officially one of the first people to discover what we're building, and for that, thank you.

StarGazer Weekend isn't just another camping event. It isn't about huge stages, celebrity headliners or thousands of people squeezed into a field.

It's about something much simpler.

It's about switching off from the busy world for a weekend and reconnecting with the things that matter most.

It actually started many years ago thinking of how or why to put a festival on as we are very much a VW nuts both myself and my wife, but didn't really know where to start and was completely scared of the thought of doing it. Now our mate runs a banging VW festival in Shropshire, V Dubs In The Valley to which we help out where we can but also trade with our entertainments side of things where Mrs Dub has a hair tinsel trade stall. Anyway the reason this has come about and why were fully committed to this festival is of recent events with so many people being ill and so much horrible things happening. We were coming back from the hospital from seeing mum as she is really poorly, my wife booked a half way site that is half way between where we live and Wales where the hospital is.

We got there, only ones in the field for the night which was perfect, just what we needed to actually sit down with the tent, fire pit a bag of chips and relax. However, speaking with the owners we mentioned about us doing silent discos, live discos etc, well looking round it just became a no brainer, the setting looking over the Black mountains, perfect, the field is fairly flat and well kept, large enough to put a great camp out on. It is a case of it's now or never, so we are doing it.

The Vision

Imagine arriving on a Friday afternoon.

You pitch your tent or park your campervan overlooking the beautiful Black Mountains.

You wander around independent traders, grab something delicious to eat, meet new people and settle into a relaxed atmosphere where everyone is welcome.

Children are playing games.

Acoustic music drifts through the campsite.

People are chatting around a communal campfire as the sun begins to set.

Then, as darkness falls...

The stars come out.

And so does the party.

Our silent disco under the night sky will bring everyone together for an unforgettable evening before another relaxed morning of camping and community.

That's the feeling we're creating.

Why We Started StarGazer Weekend

After years of working in the entertainment industry through Tykie Time Entertainment Ltd, we've had the privilege of attending countless weddings, festivals and events.

We've seen what works.

We've also seen what people are beginning to miss.

Sometimes less really is more.

We wanted to create an event where families, couples, friends and solo campers could escape the everyday pressures of life without feeling rushed, overwhelmed or lost in a crowd.

A place where conversations happen naturally.

Where memories are made around campfires.

Where strangers leave as friends.

Built from the Ground Up

One thing you'll notice is that we're taking you on the entire journey.

We're not appearing overnight with a finished event.

You'll see every milestone.

Finding traders.

Working with sponsors.

Planning entertainment.

Designing merchandise.

Meeting local businesses.

Building the website.

Solving problems.

Celebrating successes.

We want you to be part of every step because StarGazer Weekend belongs as much to its community as it does to us.

Supporting Independent Businesses

Supporting small businesses is at the heart of everything we do.

From local food vendors and artisan traders to entertainers and creators, we're passionate about giving independent businesses the opportunity to shine.

Every trader, every performer and every partner helps shape the experience that visitors will enjoy.

The Countdown Begins

There's still plenty to do before our first StarGazer Weekend in July 2027, but that's exactly why this journey is so exciting.

You're here at the very beginning.

Over the coming months we'll be sharing behind-the-scenes updates, announcing traders, introducing sponsors, revealing entertainment and showing how this dream slowly becomes reality.

We can't wait to share it all with you.
